Attorney Eric A. Sunness has represented individuals and businesses in Fort Collins and surrounding communities since 1993. Mr. Sunness has represented and counseled a wide range of clients with sophisticated family law matters throughout the state for more than 18 years, and has extensive experience in handling criminal defense, juvenile law and personal injury matters.
Mr. Sunness is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Larimer County Bar Association, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar. He presently serves on the Ethics and Professionalism Committee of the Larimer County Bar Association.
Eric graduated in 1992 from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While attending law school, he served as a legal intern at Sixty Plus, Inc, the Elderlaw Clinic of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and served as a law clerk for Abood & Doyle, PC. He was also a member of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Trial Team, served as a professor's assistant in the Trial Workshop program, and was on the dean's list.
Mr. Sunness is married and has three children. He is also active in his community. He has served as president of Fort Collins Youth Lacrosse and vice president of Northern Colorado Youth Hockey. Mr. Sunness was named Coach of the Year by Colorado State University and for the Western Region of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. He is currently a USA Hockey-certified ice hockey coach, a USA Hockey-certified on-ice official and, in his spare time, he enjoys playing the electric bass guitar.
